Job summary
The Head of Credit will lead the institution's credit management function and ensure responsible lending, effective credit appraisal, strong portfolio quality, appropriate risk management, and timely recovery of facilities.

- Develop and implement effective credit management strategies.
- Supervise the appraisal and assessment of loan applications.
- Ensure credit decisions are based on sound financial and risk analysis.
- Monitor the institution's loan portfolio and identify emerging credit risks.
- Review credit proposals and make recommendations for approval.
- Ensure compliance with approved credit policies and lending procedures.
- Oversee loan monitoring and recovery activities
- Analyze portfolio performance, delinquency levels, and recovery trends.
- Develop strategies to minimize non-performing loans and credit losses.
- Prepare regular credit performance reports for management.
- Provide guidance and support to credit officers and other lending staff.
- Degree in Finance, Banking, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Relevant professional qualifications are an advantage.
- 5–7 years' relevant credit/banking experience.
- Strong knowledge of credit risk assessment and portfolio management.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- High ethical standards and unquestionable integrity.
- Strong leadership and decision-making ability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
