FIELD SALES REPRESENTATIVE

Our client, a distributor of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), is looking for a motivated and results-oriented individual to deliver company’s products to customers in the capacity of a FIELD SALES REPRESENTATIVE.
ROLE PROFILE
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring proper product placement and visibility, driving product availability, increasing sales volume, and strengthening customer relationships. He/she will perform the following duties:
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Identify and pursue new sales opportunities to increase customer base and sales within assigned territories.
· Actively visit and service retail stores, mini-marts, wholesalers, kiosks, and informal market operators.
· Promote and sell the company’s FMCG products to customers, explaining features and benefits to maximize uptake.
· Ensure product visibility and availability by checking stock levels, arranging displays, and placing reorders where necessary.
· Meet or exceed monthly sales goals and daily call plans.
· Collect orders, track deliveries, and ensure timely collection of payments from customers.
· Monitor competitive activity, pricing, and promotions and share market intelligence with management.
· Educate customers on promotions, price changes, and new product introductions.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers to increase loyalty and repeat purchases.
· Handle customer complaints in a professional manner and follow up on unresolved issues.
· Work closely with the sales supervisor to align territory goals with company objectives.
· Submit accurate daily sales reports and field activity updates.
· Assist with market activations, product sampling, and branded promotions as needed.
· Participate in periodic inventory audits and ensure sales and inventory reconciliation is accurate.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
· Must have a minimum of a Diploma in Business Studies (DBS), HND, or Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Sales, or related field.
· A minimum of 2 years proven field sales experience in the FMCG industry is essential.
REQUIREMENTS
· Must be energetic, goal-oriented, and highly motivated.
· Strong sales and negotiation skills to close deals and manage customer expectations.
· Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills with effective time management and organizational skills.
· Ability to work independently and consistently meet field visit and sales targets.
· Must own or be able to use a smartphone for sales reporting and communication.
· Strong knowledge of Accra and its retail market landscape.
· Ability to adapt to new sales methods and technologies.
· Proven experience working directly with retail and small business customers.
