Job summary
The Credit Scoring & Data Scientist is responsible for developing, validating, and optimizing credit scoring models and data-driven solutions to support lending decisions and risk management. The role involves analyzing large datasets, building predictive models, monitoring portfolio performance, and generating insights that improve credit quality, customer acquisition, and overall business performance.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Develop, implement, and maintain credit scoring models (PD, scorecards, ML models) to predict customer default risk.
- Design and build statistical and machine learning models using techniques such as regression, decision trees, and neural networks.
- Enhance underwriting models to improve loan approval accuracy and risk segmentation.
- Validate models to ensure accuracy, stability, and regulatory compliance.
- Analyze customer behavior, transaction history, and alternative data sources to identify credit risk patterns.
- Develop dashboards, reports, and insights to support credit decision-making.
- Develop metrics and dashboards to monitor the performance of the deploye
- Establish machine learning solutions in existing business systems and workflows.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in data science or analytics and credit risk modeling roles with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
- Experience in a financial institution will be an advantage.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
