A reputable Microfinance Company is seeking to recruit a qualified, competent, experienced, hardworking, dedicated and honest individual for immediate employment as a Credit Officer. The ideal candidate must possess strong expertise in controller loans and have a proven track record in loan appraisal, disbursement, recovery and portfolio management

Key Responsibilities
- Actively market and promote all loan products and services of the Company.
- Source and acquire new credit clients while maintaining existing client relationships.
- Assist in the appraisal, approval, disbursement and recovery of loans.
- Conduct credit appraisals, financial analyses and recommend credit applications for approval.
- Perform all necessary due diligence in support of credit applications.
- Ensure adequate collateralization and securitization of all approved credit facilities.
- Develop practical repayment plans and provide strategic business advice to borrowers where appropriate.
- Meet assigned loan disbursement and portfolio growth targets.
- Ensure prompt collection and recovery of loans within assigned portfolios.
- Prepare and submit accurate weekly and monthly performance reports to Management.
- Analyse competitor activities and market trends and contribute to the development of innovative loan products and services.
- Perform any other duties assigned by Management.
Qualifications and Core Competencies
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Banking and Finance, Accounting or a related field.
- A minimum of two (2) years’ relevant work experience, at least one (1) year of which must have been in Credit Management.
- Demonstrable expertise in controller loans, including portfolio growth, monitoring, recovery and risk management.
- Excellent marketing and sales skills, with the ability to consistently source quality borrowers and grow a sustainable loan portfolio.
- Sound knowledge of commercial and personal lending, credit analysis, loan structuring, securities, recovery processes and applicable legal procedures.
- Good working knowledge of banking systems and at least one banking software application.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
- Results-oriented with the ability to achieve and exceed assigned targets.
- Working knowledge of the Bank of Ghana Collateral Registry Platform will be an added advantage.
- Previous experience as a Credit Analyst will be an added advantage.
