Credit Analyst

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate the creditworthiness of individuals and businesses applying for loans.
• Analyze financial statements, bank records, and credit histories to determine repayment capacity.
• Prepare detailed credit assessment reports and recommendations for management approval.
• Monitor existing loan portfolios to identify potential risks or defaults.
• Recommend credit limits, repayment terms, and interest structures.
• Assist in developing and refining internal credit risk models and scoring systems.
• Collaborate with the credit and collections teams to ensure timely loan repayments.
• Maintain accurate and organized credit documentation in line with regulatory standards.

Qualifications and Requirements:

•  Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
• 2–5 years of experience in credit analysis, risk management, or financial services.
• Strong understanding of credit principles, financial ratios, and loan assessment processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in the microfinance or lending industry.
• Knowledge of Ghanaian financial regulations and credit reporting systems.
• Ability to use credit scoring or management software.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
