Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Build quality relationships with new and existing accounts
- Conduct daily face-to-face sales calls to end users and distributors including agenda setting, product demonstrations and post meeting follow-ups
- Ensure effective after meeting follow up to close sales
- Identify accounts with high growth potential and devise an account plan to maximize sales
- Develop strong product knowledge and engage in consultative selling by understanding and selling to distributor needs
- Utilize strategies to win new business on a continuous and consistent basis
- Develop clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers
- Engage in consultative selling by identifying customers’ needs and provide a Portwest solution to meet those needs
- Focus on product vitality and aim to sell new product lines in conjunction with the company’s stipulated target
- Ensure follow-up after each sales meeting to close each sale in a timely manner
- Meet weekly and monthly sales targets in line with manager’s expectation
- Conduct ongoing development of market intelligence, including marketing events such as trade shows, seminars, exhibitions and journals which is fed back to the business
Skills and Qualification:
- 3-5 years’ outside sales experience, ideally selling workwear, safety wear or PPE
- Willingness to live in the region where you work
- Clean driving license, your own car and willingness to drive daily throughout the region to meet customers
- Ability to use Microsoft Office packages and learn Portwest systems
