Job summary
You will take full ownership of the company’s warehouse operations. This means you are responsible for what happens from the moment a product enters the building to the moment it leaves on a vehicle. You will lead a team of Team Leaders, Pickers, and Loaders across day and night shifts and ensure the operation runs to a consistent, measurable standard with or without supervision.
Job descriptions & requirements
Your key responsibilities include:
- Lead all daily warehouse operations across day and night shifts — from morning briefing to end-of-shift sign-off.
- Manage and develop the shift Team Leaders to ensure they can run their sections independently.
- Ensure every product is received, counted, stored, picked, and dispatched correctly — with zero tolerance for misdispatch or stock discrepancy.
- Implement and enforce FIFO and FEFO procedures across all product categories, particularly near-expiry items.
- Own and complete the warehouse SOP documentation — every procedure written, communicated, and followed.
- Monitor stock accuracy, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies within 48 hours of identification.
- Manage logistics vehicle scheduling, loading plans, and dispatch accountability.
- Coordinate closely with Procurement, Finance, and Sales to ensure the warehouse operation supports the commercial performance of the business.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised warehouse floor — visible daily to the whole team.
- Produce a daily operational report and present at the weekly senior team meeting.
What You Will Bring
Essential:
- Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of warehouse management or supervisory experience in an FMCG, distribution, or logistics environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing a warehouse team of ten or more people across shifts.
- Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations — receiving, storage, picking, loading, dispatch, and stock control.
- Experience designing or implementing warehouse SOPs and holding a team accountable to them.
- Comfortable managing both day and night shift operations.
- Strong understanding of FIFO/FEFO, inventory management, and stock accuracy disciplines.
- Practical and hands-on — you lead from the floor, not from behind a desk.
- Ghanaian market experience — understanding of FMCG distribution dynamics and the realities of operating in the Accra commercial environment.
Advantageous:
- Experience using an ERP or warehouse management system (Odoo, SAP, or equivalent).
- Experience managing a new warehouse facility opening or a major warehouse transition.
- Exposure to multi-site or expanding operational environments.
Personal qualities we are looking for:
- High operational discipline — you set the standard and hold the line.
- Calm under pressure — warehouse operations move fast and problems arise daily.
- A builder — you do not wait for systems to be in place. You create them.
- A team developer — you make the people around you better.
- Commercially aware — you understand that a well-run warehouse is a competitive advantage.
