YEN.com.gh is looking to hire local correspondents in the Ashanti, Central, Western, Eastern, Volta, Oti, Northern, Savannah, North-East, Upper East and Upper West regions.
- Minimum Qualification : Diploma
- Experience Level : Entry level
- Experience Length : 2 years
Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
As a local or regional correspondent for YEN.com.gh, you are required to:
- Publish news material that meets YEN's editorial standards, in-house style guide, and the policies of platforms (Facebook, Google, others).
- Interview sources and publish 20 stories from the region monthly.
Requirements:
- A diploma or degree in journalism/media studies or a related field.
- Perfect command of the English language (you will have to take several tests to prove it).
- 1-2 years of experience working as an editor, journalist or editorial assistant.
- Experience in the media industry or digital/social media field would be an advantage.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to type fast.
- Understanding of Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace;
- Good attention to detail;
- Good problem-solving skills;
- Ability to manage time effectively;
- A good laptop/PC (at least Intel 3);
- A good, stable and reliable internet connection (uncapped, with a line speed of at least 4MBps). Cellphone data is not acceptable.
