QAQC ASSOCIATE
Subsidiary: Genser Energy Ghana Limited (GEGL)
Division / Department: Operations & Maintenance (OM)/ Projects (PRO)
Location: Multiple Sites – Western Region. Ghana
Reports Directly to: QAQC Superintendent
OBJECTIVE: The QAQC Associate will support the implementation and monitoring of quality assurance and quality control activities throughout project execution. This role ensures that construction, installation, and commissioning works comply with approved engineering specifications, company quality standards, safety requirements, and environmental regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- QUALITY ASSURANCE & COMPLIANCE
- Assist in implementing inspection and testing plans in line with approved QA/QC procedures and project specifications.
- Promote adherence to quality standards, procedures, manuals, and systems among employees, contractors, and suppliers.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits; track non-conformities and follow up on corrective actions.
- Maintain records for equipment calibration and certification of inspection and testing tools.
- Prepare and update quality documentation, including surveillance reports and non-conformance records.
- INSPECTION & TESTING
- Conduct routine inspections for electrical and mechanical installations under supervision, ensuring compliance with approved drawings and method statements.
- Assist in inspecting welding materials and monitoring welding activities as required.
- Support submission and close-out of inspection requests in coordination with Construction Supervisors.
- Review drawings, specifications, and quality documents for accuracy and compliance.
- Support testing and commissioning activities and assist in preparing method statements with vendors and contractors.
- COORDINATION & TEAM SUPPORT
- Collaborate with the HSE team to ensure quality activities align with safety requirements on-site.
- Coordinate with regulatory bodies, contractors, and internal teams to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Assist in tracking punch list items, defects, and warranty issues for timely close-out.
- Participate in site meetings, daily toolbox talks, and safety briefings as required
- REPORTING & DOCUMENT CONTROL
- Maintain proper filing and control of QA/QC records, inspection reports, test results, and certificates.
- Provide regular updates to the QAQC Superintendent on quality issues, progress, and risks.
BUDGETING
- Support with the preparation of the monthly budget.
- Contribute to the management of all budget items, including cost control and expenditure forecasting.
- Contribute to ensuring that the budget is in line with the department’s scheduled activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering is mandatory.
- Multicultural experience is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of 4+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Experience developing QAQC standard operating procedures (SOPs), processes, and training programs.
