Planning Supervisor
Job summary
Intermine Procurement and Logistics Ltd is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Planning Supervisor – Tongli Fleet to lead maintenance planning and scheduling activities for Tongli mining equipment operating within an open-pit mining environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing maintenance plans, coordinating manpower and materials, optimizing maintenance schedules, reducing equipment downtime, and ensuring efficient execution of preventive and corrective maintenance programs. The role serves as the bridge between operations, maintenance execution teams, warehouse, and management to achieve maximum equipment availability and maintenance efficiency.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Maintenance Planning & Scheduling
- Develop daily, weekly, monthly, and shutdown maintenance plans for Tongli fleet operations.
- Create maintenance work schedules aligned with operational requirements.
- Prepare work packs and define labor, tools, parts, and execution requirements.
- Prioritize maintenance activities according to equipment criticality.
- Monitor schedule adherence and update execution plans accordingly.
- Coordinate planned maintenance shutdown activities.
Work Order & Maintenance Control
- Create, manage, and monitor maintenance work orders.
- Ensure maintenance jobs are properly scoped before execution.
- Track maintenance completion status and backlog performance.
- Maintain work order accuracy and closure quality.
- Review work execution reports and identify improvement opportunities.
Resource Planning & Coordination
- Coordinate manpower allocation across maintenance activities.
- Ensure availability of:
- Spare parts
- Maintenance tools
- Workshop equipment
- Service support resources
- Liaise with procurement and warehouse teams to prevent maintenance delays.
- Coordinate external contractor requirements where necessary.
Fleet Reliability & Maintenance Performance
- Monitor maintenance KPIs and equipment performance.
- Analyze equipment downtime and identify planning improvement opportunities.
- Support reliability initiatives to improve equipment availability.
- Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Maintenance Data Management & Reporting
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and planning documentation.
- Generate maintenance reports and dashboards.
- Analyze historical maintenance data and trends.
- Produce:
- Weekly maintenance reports
- Monthly planning reports
- Downtime analysis
- Equipment availability reports
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure maintenance plans comply with:
- HSE standards
- LOTO procedures
- Permit-to-Work systems
- Operational requirements
- Participate in maintenance risk assessments.
- Promote safe maintenance planning practices.
Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Supervise maintenance planners and planning support personnel.
- Coordinate activities across:

- Procurement

- Support training and development of planning personnel.
Qualification & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in any of the following preferred fields:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Maintenance Engineering
- Mining Engineering
- Heavy Equipment Engineering
- Supply Chain Engineering or related discipline.
- A Master’s Degree (MSc/MEng) in a relevant field will be considered an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 4–6 years of proven experience in maintenance planning, maintenance scheduling, or heavy equipment maintenance within mining operations.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or planning leadership experience.
- Experience working with Tongli fleets or equivalent heavy mining equipment will be considered an advantage
- Open-pit mining experience preferred.
