Job descriptions & requirements

Asante Gold Corporation is a gold exploration, development and operating company with a high-quality portfolio of projects and mines in Ghana. Asante is currently operating the Bibiani and Chirano Gold Mines and continues with detailed technical studies at its Kubi Gold Project for early production.
All mines and projects are located on the prolific Bibiani and Ashanti Gold Belts. Asante is also exploring its Keyhole, Fahiakoba, and Betenase projects for new discoveries, all adjoining or along strike of major gold mines near the centre of Ghana’s Golden Triangle. Asante is listed on the TSX Venture Exchange and the OTCQX Market. We co-listed our shares on the Ghana Stock Exchange to allow a whole new group of Ghanaian investors the opportunity to invest in the growth of their own local gold mining industry.
Asante has an experienced and skilled team of mine finders, builders and operators, with extensive experience in Ghana. Our experienced team members are our most precious asset, having discovered, explored and developed more than 24Moz of gold resources and reserves in Ghana; and having managed Ghana’s largest underground mine.
About This Role
The Condition Monitoring Technician supports equipment reliability by monitoring and improving asset health through advanced diagnostic tools and predictive maintenance techniques. Reporting to the Reliability Engineer, this role applies technologies such as vibration analysis and other condition‑based monitoring methods to detect potential failures early, recommend operational and maintenance improvements, and implement strategies that maximize equipment life, reduce downtime, and enhance overall plant performance.
Key Responsibilities

  • Perform alignment checks, vibration monitoring, and thermographic analysis on critical plant equipment to detect early signs of failure.
  • Monitor equipment performance, analyze failure history and identify reliability trends to recommend improvement actions.
  • Set and monitor performance targets for Condition Monitoring and Lubrication Technicians to ensure alignment with reliability objectives.
  • Track and report on the operational performance of process plant equipment and machinery.
  • Collect and review reliability data from field studies to support maintenance planning and decision-making.
  • Conduct routine engineering calculations and basic tests on less complex systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.
  • Initiate preliminary engineering investigations into equipment and process failures, presenting findings to the Reliability Engineer for review and feedback.
  • Execute condition monitoring activities, including vibration analysis, oil analysis, ultrasonic testing (UT & thickness measurement), magnetic particle inspection (MPI), infrared thermography and motor current analysis.
  • Assist the Reliability Engineer in implementing reliability systems such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Record and analyze maintenance reports to ensure timely planning and execution of essential repairs before equipment deterioration occurs.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance and Operations teams to schedule inspections, prioritize repair work and resolve equipment issues impacting production efficiency.
  • Perform other responsibilities as reasonably assigned.

Education, Work Experience & Key Competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in an Engineering discipline from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 4–5 years’ experience in reliability engineering or condition monitoring, preferably within the mining industry.
  • A Certificate of Competency issued by the Mines Inspectorate Division of the Minerals Commission is desirable.
  • Proficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for planning and tracking maintenance activities.
  • Strong knowledge of condition monitoring techniques, including vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasonic testing and oil analysis.
  • Solid understanding of reliability‑centered maintenance principles and equipment design fundamentals.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify and mitigate potential failure points.
  • Skilled in maintenance downtime analysis using metrics such as Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
  • Analytical and reporting skills to interpret data and support informed decision‑making for reliability improvements.
  • Detail‑oriented with a high commitment to accuracy, quality and reliability.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in diverse multicultural environments.
