Job summary
An Accountant is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the organization’s financial health. The role involves preparing financial statements, monitoring budgets, reconciling accounts, processing transactions, and assisting with audits and tax filings. The Accountant also provides financial insights to support decision-making, ensures timely reporting, and maintains confidentiality and accuracy in all financial operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting and administrative operations for the restaurant
- Maintain accurate financial records, including sales, expenses, and supplier transactions
- Cross-check and verify all receipts, payments, and invoices to ensure accuracy
- Identify discrepancies or errors in financial records and take corrective action
- Monitor and manage accounts payable, including invoice tracking and payment scheduling
- Download, organize, and maintain up-to-date invoices and financial documentation
- Maintain and review ageing reports and follow up to ensure timely payments
- Support cash flow management by tracking daily inflows and outflows
- Source new suppliers where needed and support cost-effective purchasing
- Build and maintain good relationships with existing suppliers
- Coordinate with suppliers regarding invoices, deliveries, and payments
- Handle basic administrative duties, including record-keeping and documentation
- Attend and respond to calls, emails, and internal communication promptly
- Assist management with reports and operational support as required
Key Requirements
- At least 2 years previous experience in accounting roles (restaurant or retail experience is a plus)
- Strong attention to detail, especially in verifying financial transactions
- Good communication skills and ability to deal with suppliers and team members
- Organized and proactive in managing records and follow-ups
- Advanced to intermediate knowledge of accounting software like Sage, Quick Books, Xero and Advanced Microsoft Excel
- Ability to identify issues and take initiative to resolve them
