Finance Manager
Job summary
The Finance Manager will lead financial planning, budgeting, reporting, internal controls, cash flow management, cost control, compliance, and business performance analysis for ATD Ghana Ltd. The role requires a hands-on finance leader who can build strong systems, support commercial decisions, improve profitability, and ensure disciplined financial operations in a growing FMCG and distribution business.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the company’s financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and monthly management reporting processes.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management accounts, cash flow reports, and performanc dashboards.
- Develop and maintain strong financial controls, approval systems, and internal compliance processes.
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly cash flow and ensure liquidity for operations, suppliers, and growth activities.
- Build and maintain product costing models for key SKUs including salt, snacks, and future consumer product lines.
- Track gross margins, contribution margins, pricing performance, and profitability by product, customer, and channel.
- Partner with operations, procurement, warehousing, and sales teams to improve cost efficiency and reduce leakages.
- Oversee inventory-related financial controls including stock reconciliations, variance analysis, wastage monitoring, and valuation.
- Design and manage customer credit controls, receivables tracking, debtor aging, and collection follow-up systems.
- Review trade discounts, promotional spend, route-to-market costs, and distributor/wholesaler commercial terms.
- Manage accounts payable, payroll coordination, statutory deductions, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.
- Ensure compliance with Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), SSNIT, labour, and other applicable statutory requirements.
- Support business decisions through data-driven financial analysis and commercial insights.
- Develop and improve finance policies, SOPs, reporting templates, and administrative controls.
- Coordinate audits, maintain financial records, and liaise with external accountants, auditors, banks, and regulators.
- Lead, supervise, and build discipline within the finance and administration team as the company grows.
- Identify financial risks and propose mitigation actions to protect margins, cash flow, and business continuity.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, ICA, CA, CPA, or part qualification is an advantage
- Minimum of 4–7 years relevant experience in finance, accounting, or financial management
- Prior experience in FMCG, manufacturing, distribution, trading, or a fast-growing SME is strongly preferred
- Strong working knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and cash flow management
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong financial analysis and commercial thinking
- Hands-on budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management capability
- Ability to build and interpret product costing and margin analysis
- Strong knowledge of inventory and working capital controls
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced level preferred)
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Tally, or similar
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Excellent integrity, confidentiality, and professional judgment
- Strong communication and ability to explain financial insights clearly to non-finance teams
- Ability to work in a startup or growth-stage environment with structure and discipline
- Leadership ability with strong follow-through and accountability
