Microfinance Officer
Job summary
The Microfinance Officer will be responsible for promoting and managing our microfinance products, focusing on client acquisition, loan management (appraisal, disbursement, monitoring, recovery), and financial literacy training in designated communities.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Conduct market surveys to identify potential clients and communities.
- Recruit and animate microfinance groups, ensuring effective group formation and management.
- Appraise loan applications, assess creditworthiness, and disburse funds.
- Monitor loan utilization and ensure timely repayment, managing arrears.
- Conduct financial literacy training for clients.
- Build strong relationships with clients and the community.
- Submit regular reports to management.
- HND or Diploma in Marketing, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in microfinance, credit, or community development.
- Proven experience in credit analysis and risk assessment.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (local language a plus), and analytical skills.
- Strong customer-oriented mindset with integrity and honesty.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and computer literacy.
- Ability to work independently, under pressure, and in remote/rural settings.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the bank’s catchment area (field work expected).
- Possession of a valid motorcycle riding license and skills is highly preferred.
