Tyre Technician
Job descriptions & requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect tyres regularly to identify wear, damage, punctures, and other safety issues.
- Remove, install, and replace tyres on trucks, trailers, and heavy-duty vehicles.
- Perform tyre repairs, including puncture repair, tyre patching, and tube replacement.
- Check and maintain correct tyre pressure according to manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct tyre rotation, wheel balancing, and tyre condition assessments.
- Maintain accurate records of tyre inspections, repairs, replacements, and mileage tracking.
- Identify tyre-related problems and provide recommendations to improve tyre lifespan and vehicle safety.
- Operate tyre service equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and maintenance of tyres and related equipment.
- Follow Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) procedures during all maintenance activities.
- Provide technical support to the vehicle maintenance team on tyre-related issues.
Requirements
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Tyre Technician, Tyre Fitter, or similar role.
- Experience working with heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and commercial vehicles is preferred.
- Good knowledge of tyre repair, fitting, inflation, and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to use tyre-changing equipment, air compressors, and other tyre service tools.
- Strong understanding of vehicle safety standards and maintenance practices.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
