Job summary
We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and results-driven Sales and Procurement Manager to oversee and coordinate the company’s business development, client relationship management, sourcing, purchasing, and supply chain activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth, managing procurement operations, preparing competitive quotations and tenders, sourcing quality products and services, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery of materials and equipment to clients in the mining and oil & gas sectors. This role requires a strong understanding of industrial supplies, mining consumables, oil field materials, logistics coordination, vendor management, pricing strategies, and contract administration.

Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the mining, gold processing, oil & gas, and industrial sectors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Respond promptly to Requests for Quotations (RFQs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and tenders.
- Prepare accurate, competitive, and timely quotations in line with client requirements.
- Follow up on submitted quotations and proposals to improve bid conversion rates.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to increase revenue and market share.
- Conduct market research to identify demand trends, pricing movements, and competitor activities.
- Attend client meetings, site visits, networking events, and industry engagements as required.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and supply contracts with clients.
- Ensure excellent customer service and prompt resolution of client complaints or delivery issues.
Procurement & Sourcing
- Source high-quality materials, equipment, spare parts, and consumables for mining and oil field operations.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable local and international suppliers.
- Request and compare supplier quotations to ensure best value for cost, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Negotiate favorable pricing, payment terms, warranties, and delivery schedules with vendors.
- Raise purchase orders and ensure procurement activities comply with company procedures.
- Monitor supplier performance and maintain approved vendor lists.
- Ensure all procured items meet technical specifications and client requirements.
- Coordinate import and local procurement processes for urgent and routine orders.
- Track lead times and proactively address supply risks or delays.
Tendering, Quotation & Contract Management
- Review client RFQs, tender documents, technical specifications, and scope of work.
- Coordinate with internal teams and suppliers to compile complete and compliant bids.
- Ensure all quotations and tenders are submitted within required deadlines.
- Maintain a tender calendar and track bid status, wins, losses, and lessons learned.
- Analyze unsuccessful bids and recommend improvements for future submissions.
- Assist in reviewing supply agreements, purchase contracts, and service level terms.
Logistics & Delivery Coordination
- Coordinate with logistics teams, clearing agents, freight forwarders, and transport providers to ensure timely delivery.
- Monitor shipment schedules, customs clearance, and inland transportation.
- Ensure proper documentation for imports, exports, and local deliveries.
- Minimize delays that may result in penalties, demurrage, or loss of business.
- Follow up on order fulfillment from supplier to final client delivery.
Reporting & Performance Management
- Prepare weekly and monthly sales and procurement reports for management.
- Track key metrics such as Sales revenue and gross margin, RFQs received vs. quotations submitted, Bid win rate, Procurement savings, Supplier lead times, Delivery performance, Outstanding client follow-ups
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, profitability, and client satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field
- Professional certification in Procurement / Supply Chain / Sales is an added advantage CIPS, Supply Chain certifications, Or equivalent
Required Experience
- Minimum 8–10 years relevant work experience in sales, procurement, supply chain, or commercial operations.
- At least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
