Job summary
The Sales Executive is responsible for driving revenue growth through the acquisition, retention, and expansion of general insurance business within an assigned territory or customer segment. The role focuses on generating new business, managing renewals, and developing long-term relationships with customers, intermediaries, and distribution partners. The Sales Executive shall play a front-line role in representing the company in the market while ensuring alignment with underwriting guidelines, compliance standards, and service quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities
Revenue Generation & Business Development
- Achieve individual premium targets through new business acquisition, renewals, and cross-selling of general insurance products.
- Actively prospect, identify, and convert new customers across retail, SME, or corporate segments.
- Manage and grow a portfolio of clients to maximize retention, premium growth, and product penetration.
- Support negotiation of terms, pricing discussions, and coverage structures in coordination with underwriting teams.
- Maintain accurate sales pipelines, forecasts, and activity reports.
Relationship & Intermediary Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, agents, and direct customers.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring consistent engagement and responsiveness.
- Support intermediaries with product knowledge, quotations, and timely service to enhance business flow.
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, and business reviews as required.
Product Knowledge & Technical Coordination
- Develop a strong understanding of general insurance products including Motor, Property, Health, Marine, Engineering, and Liability.
- Coordinate with underwriting teams to ensure accurate risk information, timely quotations, and adherence to underwriting guidelines.
- Ensure proper documentation, disclosures, and policy issuance requirements are met.
- Support claims-related customer inquiries and assist in escalation when required.
Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to encourage renewals and referrals.
- Provide post-sale support, including addressing basic customer inquiries or coordinating with service teams.
- Maintain regular contact with distribution partners (agents, branches, or banks depending on sales model).
Reporting & Performance Tracking
- Update daily activity logs including leads contacted, meetings held, and sales progress.
- Prepare weekly sales reports for the Branch Manager or Sales Supervisor.
- Track sales targets and highlight areas requiring support or improvement.
Market Intelligence
- Collect feedback from customers and prospects about competitor products or market conditions.
- Identify emerging customer needs and communicate insights to the sales team.
- Stay informed about new insurance products and updates.
Compliance & Ethical Sales
- Ensure all sales activities comply with regulatory guidelines and company policies.
- Practice ethical selling by providing accurate, transparent product information.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer information.
- Perform any other duties that may be assign from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Finance, Insurance, or a related field (preferred).
- Insurance certifications or professional training are an advantage.
- 4 to 6 years’ experience in general insurance sales or business development.
- Experience working with brokers, agents, or direct insurance customers is preferred.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
