To ensure accurate, timely, and complete reconciliation of all financial transactions processed across multiple payment platforms, including both automated and manual settlements, while maintaining strong revenue assurance and compliance standards.

Job descriptions & requirements

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation of transactions across multiple channels, including bank transfers, ATMs, mobile money, USSD, merchant payments, and card transactions.
  • Ensure prompt and accurate reconciliation of mobile money transactions across all telecommunications networks.
  • Monitor and verify settlement postings, identify discrepancies, and work with relevant teams to resolve issues promptly.
  • Reconcile third-party bill payments and top-up transactions, ensuring accurate computation of commissions.
  • Prepare and deliver transaction and reconciliation reports for internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Investigate and resolve transaction failures, reversals, backlogs, and settlement discrepancies.
  • Ensure all revenues are accurately computed, accounted for, and credited to the appropriate accounts in a timely manner.
  • Oversee manual payments to merchants and ensure proper documentation and approvals.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to resolve platform-related transaction issues.
  • Review and validate merchant setups, including settlement configurations and fee structures prior to go-live.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and information security standards in all reconciliation processes.
  • Support regulatory reporting requirements, including preparation of periodic reports for relevant authorities.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including financial institutions and regulatory bodies, on reconciliation and settlement matters.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
  • Strong accounting and financial reconciliation background
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Knowledge of electronic payment systems and financial platforms is an advantage

Qualifications & Experience
  • Masters Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in reconciliation, settlements, or revenue assurance within the financial services or fintech industry
