Machine Operator / Technician
Job summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Machine Operator/Technician to operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot production machinery to ensure efficient manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining equipment performance, minimizing downtime, and ensuring products meet quality standards while adhering to all safety regulations.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Operate production machines and equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain optimal efficiency.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults, carrying out minor repairs where required.
- Report major equipment failures and coordinate with the maintenance team for timely repairs.
- Ensure machines are properly set up before production runs.
- Monitor product quality during production and make adjustments to maintain specifications.
- Maintain accurate production, maintenance, and downtime records.
- Keep workstations and machinery clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
- Adhere to company Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies at all times.
- Collaborate with production supervisors and other technicians to achieve production targets.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machine efficiency and productivity.
- Minimum of Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Machine Operator, Mechanical Technician, or in a similar manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and industrial machinery.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical equipment issues.
- Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals, and machine specifications.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control procedures.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
- High attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
