Full Stack Engineering Lead (.net, React)

he Full-Stack Tech Lead provides technical leadership and hands-on engineering expertise across our web, mobile, and backend platforms. Reporting to the Engineering Director, this role owns the end-to-end technical direction, drives architectural decisions, sets engineering standards, and mentors a team of developers. The Tech Lead works closely with Product Owners and Project Managers to shape scope, plan releases, and ensure predictable, high-quality delivery. This is a onsite role based in Ghana (Accra preferred), with occasional in-person collaboration.

**What You’ll Do:**

* Own the end-to-end technical direction across web, mobile, and backend platforms, ensuring alignment with business goals.

* Drive pragmatic architectural decisions around modular monolith vs. microservices, including defining service boundaries, integration patterns, and consistency tradeoffs.

* Apply Domain-Driven Design (DDD) to create clear domain boundaries, bounded contexts,aggregates, and domain events.

* Set and enforce high standards for code quality, testing, API contracts, and documentation across the engineering team.

* Partner closely with Product Owners and Project Managers to clarify requirements, define acceptance criteria, break epics into deliverable slices, and estimate work realistically.

* Plan sprints and releases, manage dependencies and risks, and balance product speed with technical sustainability (tech debt, refactors, platform work).

* Lead and mentor engineers through pair programming, design reviews, code reviews, and coaching.

* Build a strong engineering culture centred on ownership, quality, and continuous improvement.

* Support hiring and onboarding processes as the team grows.

* Lead development of high-quality user experiences on web (React/Next.js) and mobile (React Native), guiding choices around state management, performance, and component architecture.

* Ensure UI quality standards including responsive design, accessibility (web), and polished mobile UX (navigation, device differences).

* Own backend design and implementation in .NET Core, including API design, security fundamentals, and resilient patterns (retries/timeouts, idempotency, background processing).

* Drive database design and performance optimisation, including schema design, migrations,indexing, and query tuning.

* Establish observability foundations to monitor system health and performance.

* Provide engineering input into prioritisation, timelines, and technical tradeoffs during product planning.

**What You’ll Bring:**

* Strong full-stack experience shipping production products across frontend, backend, and mobile platforms.

* Prior experience as a senior engineer or tech lead with clear ownership of delivery and a proven track record of mentorship.

* Strong system design skills with the ability to clearly articulate architectural tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

* Demonstrated architectural competence in:

1. Domain-Driven Design (DDD) — practical application in real-world projects

2. Modular monolith design — clear boundaries and dependency discipline

3. Microservices understanding — when and how to split, data ownership, and failure modes

* Solid database fundamentals, including relational DB design, migrations, and performance tuning.

* Strong collaboration skills with experience working effectively with Product Owners and Project Managers.

* Proficiency in modern engineering tools and practices, including version control, CI/CD, and testing frameworks.

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; a master's degree is a plus.

* Fluency in English; proficiency in local Ghanaian languages is an advantage but not required.
