The role focuses on structured experimentation, early-stage product development, and transitioning validated ideas into scalable products.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Continuously scan market, customer, regulatory, and technology trends to identify high-potential product and venture opportunities.
  • Conduct structured problem discovery using customer interviews, field research, data analysis, and ecosystem mapping.
  • Define clear problem statements, opportunity hypotheses, and strategic fit assessments aligned to PaySwitch’s long-term platform strategy.
  • Lead UX-driven discovery by defining user personas, customer journeys, service blueprints, and experience maps for new initiatives.
  • Ensure early-stage concepts are validated through usability testing, prototypes, and iterative feedback loops.
  • Own the creation of high-quality product design artefacts, including:
  • Product Requirement Documents (PRDs)
  • Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs)
  • User stories and acceptance criteria
  • Process flows and workflow diagrams
  • Define MVP and pilot scopes with clear functional boundaries, dependencies, and non-functional requirements.
  • Design and run experiments, pilots, and MVPs using lean and agile methodologies.
  • Define success metrics, learning goals, and decision criteria for each initiative.
  • Work with engineering teams to deliver pilots efficiently while maintaining technical soundness.
  • Manage pilot timelines, risks, and dependencies across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop business cases, value propositions, and early financial models for new ventures.
  • Present clear recommendations to scale, pivot, or terminate initiatives based on evidence.
  • Support the transition of validated ventures into core product roadmaps with structured handover documentation.
  • Align product innovation initiatives with commercial, partnership, and platform priorities.
  • Act as an internal advocate for disciplined, customer-centric innovation.


Skills And Abilities

Technical

  • Strong understanding of fintech products, APIs, and platform capabilities
  • MVP design and experimentation frameworks
  • Strong product discovery and innovation frameworks (e.g. design thinking, lean experimentation)
  • Proven ability to write clear, detailed PRDs and FRDs for complex digital products
  • Strong UX design literacy, including user journeys, workflows, and service design
  • Solid understanding of fintech platforms, APIs, and system integrations
  • Ability to conceptualize MVP architectures and assess technical feasibility
  • Familiarity with agile delivery and experimentation metrics

Education & Experience

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems.
  • 2-4 years of experience in product management, product innovation, venture building, or related fintech platform roles
  • Demonstrated experience leading early-stage products from concept to pilot or market launch
  • Experience working closely with engineering teams on complex digital platformsPrior experience in payments, fintech, financial services, or platform- based businesses is highly preferred
