We are looking for an Installation Manager with experience gained on LNG carrier or FSRU to work near Accra and take over the management of a Floating Regasification Unit.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:     

  • Manage the inventory onboard the FRU, plan and coordinate the transfer operations from the FSU to the FRU.
  • Establish the main operational guidelines to meet the nomination requirements.         
  • Coordinate and cooperate with FSU crew during the Ship-to-Ship operations.     
  • Responsible for the interface works between the FRU and FSU. 
  • Responsible for the overall operation of the pipeline and PRMS.
  • Compliance with maintenance and inspection plans.       
  • Plan and ensure safe ballasting and deballasting operations and accounting of changes in deck loads.       
  • Operational control of trim, stability and stress of the FRU.         
  • Maintain safety and security of the FRU personnel and the operational condition of lifesaving, firefighting and other safety systems.
  • Develop emergency and damage control plans and handle emergency situations.             
  • Respond to emergencies             
  • Forecast weather and oceanographic conditions.             
  • Plan and ensure safe transfer of personnel.         
  • Plan and ensure safe loading, stowage, securing and handling of supplies, including dangerous goods.           
  • Review and approve relevant permits to work, as  per Reganosa procedures         
  • Prevention of pollution.
  • Monitor and control safe working practices.       
  • Monitor and control compliance with legislative requirements and measures to ensure safety of life at sea and the protection of the marine environment.           
  • Monitor and control operations impacting maritime safety.         
  • Organize the human and technical means to guarantee the safety, efficiency of the FRU and the Gas Pipeline, as well as the quality of the service.     
  • Organize and direct the human resources for the operation of the FRU and gas pipeline, ensuring their availability and efficiency in meeting production objectives and promoting their motivation, training and integration.           
  • Prepare and supervise the budget of the operation area.             
  • Lead and propose the necessary training processes for new hires.             
  • Manage personnel resources according to occupational needs and current legislation.     
  • Assist in the processes of sending information to third parties     

 


Required Knowledge Area:

  • Extensive knowledge of LNG cargo operations, including cargo transfer, Ship-to-Ship operations and LNG regasification processes.      
  • Desirable knowledge of pipelines and metering stations operations, including pigging operations, chromatography systems and gas metering technologies.     
  • General knowledge of the principle of construction of vessels and Mobile Offshore Units (MOUs).             
  • Knowledge about dynamic stability, floating, trim and list in vessels and MOUs. Measures to prevent trim and stability and calculations to foreseen variations in the trim and stability.             
  • Knowledge about emergency procedures and safety equipment such as lifesaving, firefighting, the performance of drills, communication procedures in emergencies, etc.         
  • Precautions to be taken during the transfer of personnel, especially vessel transfers and use of personnel baskets.           
  • Handling and storage of supplies, including dangerous goods.   
  • Use of cranes and lifting equipment and inspections.       
  • General overview of pollution prevention systems and equipment and pollution prevention procedures.       
  • Ability to apply available meteorological information to ensure the safety of the FRU.             
  • Safe working practices: occupational safety, permit to work, works underwater, confined spaces, etc.       
  • Basic knowledge about regulatory and certification requirements.             
  • General knowledge about working in hazardous areas.   
  • Organize the human and technical means to guarantee the safety, the efficiency of the FRU and the Gas Pipeline, as well as the quality of the service.     
  • Organize and direct the human resources for the operation of the FRU and gas pipeline, ensuring their availability and efficiency in meeting production objectives and promoting their motivation, training and integration.           
  • Prepare and supervise the budget of the operation area.             
  • Lead and propose the necessary training processes for new hires.             
  • Manage personnel resources according to occupational needs and current legislation.     
  • Assist in the processes of sending information to third parties     
  • Assist in Custody Transfer related tasks.
  • Ensure FRU staff complies with the minimum resting hours as per applicable laws             

 

Experience       

  • +10 years of experience in vessels and/or floating units.           
  • +10 years of experience in oil and gas industry, with at least 5 years of experience in LNG 
  • High level of English required     

 

Certifications:              

  • Required valid certification II/2 (STCW Regulations); equivalent to Master.           
  • Required valid certification in Advanced Training Liquified Gases tankers (A-V/1-2-1 as per STCW Regulations or equivalent).             
  • Required valid certification in Advance Fire Fighting Training (A-VI/3 as per STCW Regulations or equivalent).         
  • Required valid certification in First aid, personal survival, personal safety (VI/1 as per STCW Regulations or equivalent).         
  • Required valid certification for Person with security responsibilities (VI/6-2 as per STCW Regulations or equivalent).         
  • Required valid certification for Ship Security Officer (A-VI/5 as per STCW Regulations or equivalent).       
  • Recommended valid certification for First Aid (A-VI/4-1 as per STCW Regulations or equivalent).       
  • Recommended valid certification for Person in charge of medical care (A-VI/4-2 as per STCW Regulations or equivalent).         
  • Required valid certification for Survival crafts (A-VI/2-1 as per STCW Regulations or equivalent).       
  • Required valid certification for Fast Rescue Boats (A-VI/2-2 as per STCW Regulations or equivalent).       
  • Training course in MOU stability
