Job Description/Requirements

Blackstar Rail Limited, a pioneering force in the railway industry in Ghana, is excited to announce an opportunity for talented and dynamic individuals to join our team as Junior Railway Consultants. Situated on the bustling Adjirigano Road, Adenta, Accra, we are at the heart of innovation and development in railway technology and services. We believe in nurturing talent and offering the training and support needed to advance in the complex field of railway engineering.


Key Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Applicants must possess an engineering degree from a reputable institution. Candidates without this qualification will not be considered.
  • Engineering Experience: At least 3 years of experience in the engineering field is required. While expertise in railway engineering is not a prerequisite, a keen interest in learning and growing in this specialization is vital.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Strong capability in writing technical Engineering reports.
    • Proficiency in professional Microsoft Suite packages.
    • Coding skills are essential.
  • IT Background: A solid IT foundation with a basic understanding of system engineering thinking is crucial.
  • Location: Candidates should ideally reside no more than 45 minutes from our business premises at Agjirigano Road, Adenta, Accra.


Responsibilities:

  • Identifying and managing railway hazards and RAM (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability) issues throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Planning and facilitating System Safety, Safety in Design, and RAM workshops.
  • Establishing and maintaining Hazard Logs & RAM logs.
  • Developing Safety Requirements & RAM Requirements.
  • Creating System Safety Management Plans & RAM Management Plans.
  • Developing Safety/Assurance cases.
  • Determining System Safety & Safety-related functions.
  • Conducting and documenting RAM analyses, including FMEA, FMECA, and FTA.
  • Developing reliability block diagrams (RBDs).
  • Defining Safety Integrity Levels & Reliability Critical Items.
  • Writing technical RAM and Safety reports.
  • Verifying and validating the system against Safety Requirements & RAM Requirements.
