Job Summary

The Senior Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) Associate will lead the design, coordination, and implementation of systems that track performance, measure outcomes, and generate insights. This role is responsible for ensuring data accuracy, managing evaluations, and producing evidence that supports decision-making and continuous improvement.

Job Description/Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Data Management & Systems Support

  • Provide technical support to project teams in the use of MERL tools and processes for Associates and Employer Partners
  • Oversee data import, cleaning, and management to ensure accuracy and completeness of program records (Associates, Employers, Learning, and Performance).
  • Conduct routine spot checks to verify accuracy of data collected from Associates, Employers, and Mentors.


Reporting & Data Quality Assurance

  •  Ensure timely and accurate data reporting.
  • Conduct routine spot checks to monitor Associate safeguarding and assess employers’ wellbeing practices, ensuring a safe, and compliant program environment.
  • Produce clear and standard reports for internal and external stakeholders.


Learning & Insight Generation

  • Provide technical support for research and evaluation activities, including tool design, planning, and managing fieldwork.
  • Supervise and manage consultants engaged in research and evaluation assignments.
  • Lead in data analysis, interpretation, and report writing.
  • Support project teams to highlight results, lessons learned, and the impact of interventions.


Stakeholder Engagement

  • Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders to strengthen accountability and inform decision-making.


Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Research, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning, with expertise in data management, validation, and reporting.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools (SPSS, STATA, Advanced Excel, Power BI, or similar).
  • Demonstrated experience in producing high-quality evaluation reports and insights for diverse stakeholders.


Skills and Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and present complex data clearly.
  • Strong communication interpersonal and reporting skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and work to meet deadlines.
