Job summary
A Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all costs related to construction projects, from initial estimates to final accounts. The role involves preparing budgets, cost planning, contract management, and ensuring projects are completed within the approved budget while maintaining quality and compliance. The Quantity Surveyor works closely with engineers, contractors, and clients to achieve cost-effective and efficient project delivery.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities (BOQ) for projects.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments.
- Manage tendering processes, including preparation of tender documents, evaluation of bids and issuance of Purchase Orders.
- Monitor project costs and provide regular financial reports.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with contractors and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with relevant construction regulations and company policies.
- Conduct site visits to assess progress and verify work against contractual obligations.
- Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure smooth project execution.
- Could be assigned to assist to do supervision on any JSix civil works project.
- Monitor and give updates of quotations and BOQs when required by MD.
- Maintain accurate records of project expenditures and variations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
- Professional certification (e.g. Ghana Institute of Surveyors) is an advantage.
- 3–5 years’ experience in construction, mining, or civil works projects
Key Competencies And Skills:
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and cost control
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and project management software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiar with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
- Outstanding organizational, Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Good time-management skills
