Nyimdzii Foundation is seeking a thoughtful, capable, and service-minded Programmes Lead to help guide and strengthen its educational work with young people in Gbawe, Accra. Nyimdzii Foundation is a faith-inspired organisation dedicated to releasing the potential of young people to contribute to the betterment of society. Guided by spiritual principles, it welcomes collaboration with people of all backgrounds. The Foundation facilitates school- and community-based educational activities that enrich academic learning, strengthen moral and social capacities, and support young people to undertake initiatives that contribute to the well- being of their communities. The Programmes Lead will work closely with the Foundation’s leadership, staff, volunteers, schools, families, and community partners to coordinate and accompany a growing pattern of activities, including study groups in schools, neighbourhood reading and tutoring spaces, youth camps, service-learning initiatives, and emerging programmes for teacher and community engagement. This role is suited to someone who believes deeply in the capacity of young people, works with humility and discipline, and can help translate vision into well-organised action. The ideal candidate will combine practical organisational ability with a spirit of learning, reflection, and collaboration.

Job descriptions & requirements

Key responsibilities:
  • Coordinating the planning, implementation, and follow-up of Nyimdzii’s educational programmes for junior youth and youth.
  • Supporting facilitators, tutors, volunteers, and programme staff to carry out activities with quality and consistency.
  • Strengthening relationships with schools, parents, community members, and local institutions.
  • Helping to organise camps, study sessions, reading and tutoring spaces, and youth service activities.
  • Contributing to systems for reflection, documentation, learning, and programme improvement.
  • Ensuring that programme activities are carried out in a manner consistent with Nyimdzii’s purpose, values, and community-centred approach.
  • Assisting with reports, schedules, budgets, records, and other administrative tasks related to programme delivery.

Qualifications and experience:
  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science-related subject area, economics, business management, development studies, or a related field.
  • At least five years of work experience, preferably in education, youth development, community development, programme coordination, school-based initiatives, or organisational development.
  • Experience working with children, junior youth, youth, schools, community organisations, or educational initiatives.
  • Good organisation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong writing, documentation, and reporting skills.
  • The ability to work respectfully with teachers, parents, young people, community leaders, and others from diverse backgrounds.
  • A reflective and consultative approach to work.
  • A strong commitment to the education, character development, and well-being of young people.
  • Comfort working in an organisation guided by spiritual principles and committed to service, consultation, learning, and the advancement of community well-being.
  • A willingness to learn and contribute to the development of a growing organisation.
