Job summary

The Assistant Internal Auditor supports the internal audit department by assisting in evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management and governance processes across various departments. This role reports directly to the Head of Internal audit of the Hotel and plays a critical role in conducting audits, analyzing financial and operational data, and providing recommendations to improve organizational efficiency and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in reviewing and evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls.
  • Identify operational and financial risks and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and legal regulations.
  • Assist the Head of Internal Audit to prepare audit reports detailing findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Follow up on audit issues to ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
  • Collaborate with various departments to understand operational workflows and identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist the Head of Audit to conduct audit of the financial statements, operational procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collect, analyze, and document audit evidence, identifying discrepancies, weaknesses, or inefficiencies in processes and controls.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports highlighting findings, risks, and recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Support the assessment of internal control systems and recommend improvements for risk mitigation.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or related field.
  • Professional certification such as CIA, CPA, or ACCA is preferred.
  • 5-6 years of experience in internal audit, accounting, or finance within the hospitality industry.
  • Knowledge of hospitality operations, accounting systems, and internal control frameworks.
  • Strong analytical, reporting and communication skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with hospitality-specific financial and operational procedures.
  • Attention to detail and high ethical standards.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
