Male Cook & Butcher
Job summary
The male cook will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality meals according to the hotel’s menu and standards while maintaining hygiene and safety. And the butcher will be responsible for preparing, cutting, trimming, and packaging meat products for kitchen use while ensuring hygiene and quality standards.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Prepare and cook meals (local and/or continental dishes)
- Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards
- Ensure food is fresh, properly stored, and labeled
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, utensils, and workstations
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages
- Assist in menu planning and food costing
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations
- Work closely with kitchen staff and supervisors
- Proven experience as a cook or chef
- Knowledge of food safety practices
- Ability to work under pressure
- Good time management and teamwork skills
- Cut, debone, and portion meat (beef, poultry, fish, etc.)
- Inspect meat quality and ensure freshness
- Store meat properly (freezing, refrigeration, labeling)
- Maintain cleanliness of cutting tools and area
- Minimize waste and manage inventory
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards
- Support kitchen staff with meat preparation needs
- Experience as a butcher or meat cutter
- Knowledge of different meat cuts and handling techniques
- Physical stamina and attention to detail
- Understanding of hygiene and food safety standards
