Job summary

The Kitchen Staff/Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking meals according to the restaurant's recipes and standards while maintaining high levels of food quality, hygiene, and safety. The role requires teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Job descriptions & requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook food items according to approved recipes and menu specifications.
  • Ensure food is prepared and served in a timely manner.
  • Maintain consistency in taste, quality, and presentation of meals.
  • Wash, peel, chop, and prepare ingredients for cooking.
  • Monitor food stock levels and report shortages to the Chef or Manager.
  • Store food items properly and ensure freshness of ingredients.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations.
  • Adhere to food safety, health, and hygiene regulations at all times.
  • Assist with receiving and inspecting food deliveries.
  • Minimize food wastage and ensure efficient use of ingredients.
  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen and restaurant staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management related to kitchen operations.


Qualifications and Requirements

  • Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, catering service, or similar food preparation environment is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen safety.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet customer demand during busy periods.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.

Educational Qualifications
