JHS Science Teacher
Job summary
JHS Science Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging Science lessons to Junior High School students in line with the approved curriculum. The role prepares lesson plans, conducts practical experiments, assesses student performance, fosters critical thinking and scientific inquiry, and maintains a positive learning environment. The teacher also monitors students' academic progress, participates in extracurricular activities, collaborates with parents and colleagues, and supports the overall academic and personal development of students while adhering to the school's educational standards and policies. Fountainhead Christian School is seeking a passionate, qualified, and dedicated Junior High School (JHS) Science Teacher to join our academic team.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Teach Integrated Science in line with the Ghana Education Service (GES) curriculum.
- Prepare engaging lesson plans and practical learning activities.
- Assess learners’ progress and provide timely feedback.
- Prepare students effectively for the BECE.
- Foster a disciplined, safe, and engaging classroom environment.
- Participate in staff meetings, school activities, and professional development.
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Education with a specialization in Integrated Science or a related field.
- A valid National Teacher Licensure Certificate is an advantage.
- A minimum of 3 years’ teaching experience at the JHS level.
- Applicants who are WAEC BECE Examiners will have an added advantage.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and ICT skills.
