AI-Focused Software Developer
Job summary
We're looking for a talented, versatile developer to become our technical partner in turning ambitious ideas into real, working products. This is not a typical "ticket-based" development job — you'll be involved from concept to launch, helping design, build, and scale digital products including websites, mobile/web applications, and AI-powered tools and systems. You'll be working directly with the founder on a pipeline of live projects spanning health & social care technology, marketplace platforms, fintech/investment tools, and small business digital solutions. If you love building things from scratch, solving open-ended problems, and working with modern AI tools as part of your everyday development process, this is for you.

Job Description:
- Translating business ideas and rough concepts into functional technical specifications and working products
- Building and maintaining web applications, mobile apps, and custom software
- Integrating AI/LLM capabilities into products (e.g. chatbots, automation, recommendation engines, data analysis tools)
- Designing clean, scalable system architecture that can grow with the business
- Working with APIs (including AI APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar) to build intelligent features
- Managing databases, backend infrastructure, and deployment (cloud hosting, CI/CD)
- Producing MVPs quickly, then iterating based on feedback
- Advising on technical feasibility, cost, and timelines for new ideas
- Occasionally managing or coordinating with other freelance developers/designers as projects scale
Job Requirement:
Essential:
- Strong hands-on experience with modern programming languages/frameworks (e.g. JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, React, Node.js — or equivalent)
- Practical experience building and shipping full products, not just coursework or tutorials (portfolio or GitHub required)
- Genuine fluency with AI development tools — using AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.), prompt engineering, and/or building AI-powered features into applications
- Experience building both web and mobile applications (native or cross-platform, e.g. React Native/Flutter)
- Comfortable with databases (SQL/NoSQL), cloud hosting (AWS/GCP/Azure or similar), and version control (Git)
- Ability to work independently, manage your own time, and communicate clearly about progress and blockers
- Strong problem-solving mindset — comfortable taking a vague idea and figuring out how to build it
Nice to have:
- Experience with UI/UX design or design tools (Figma)
- Experience building marketplace, booking, or SaaS platforms
- Familiarity with fintech, healthtech, or e-commerce products
- Previous experience working directly with a founder or in a startup environment
- DevOps/automation experience
