Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Media and Communications Tutor to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in journalism and a strong foundation in media theory and analysis. You will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons in journalism, media studies, and communication ethics, while mentoring students and fostering critical thinking.

Job Description/Requirements
Professional Experience:
- Hands-on experience in journalism (reporting, editing, broadcasting, etc.).
- Familiarity with newsroom operations, ethical guidelines, and industry standards.
Writing and Reporting Skills:
- Strong writing, interviewing, and storytelling abilities.
- Understanding of news values, structure, and style.
Media Law and Ethics:
- Knowledge of defamation, privacy, and intellectual property laws.
- Understanding of journalistic ethics and standards.
Media Studies Qualifications:
Theoretical Knowledge:
- Understanding of media theories, including representation, ideology, and audience studies.
- Familiarity with key concepts like semiotics, discourse analysis, and cultural studies.
Analytical Skills:
- Ability to critically analyze media texts (articles, films, advertisements, etc.).
- Understanding of media's role in society, including its impact on culture and politics.
Research Skills:
- Proficiency in conducting media research and analyzing data.
- Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research methods.
Tutoring Qualifications:
Teaching Experience:
- Experience in teaching journalism, media studies, or related subjects.
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans and course materials.
Communication Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively teach and mentor students.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and support.
Adaptability:
- Ability to tailor teaching methods to different learning styles and needs.
- Flexibility in addressing current media trends and issues in the classroom.
Formal Qualifications:
Degree or Certification:
- Degree in Journalism, Media Studies, Communications, or a related field.
