Job Description/Requirements
Our multinational client who provides healthcare delivery to its customers, requires an experienced Program Lead to join their team in Ghana. Reporting to the Head of Operations for Africa, you will be primarily responsible for spearheading the implementation of digital primary health care programs in selected regions of Ghana. You will serve as the primary link between local government health systems, community-based organizations, and internal teams, ensuring programs are aligned with national health priorities and strategies.
Responsibilities
- Develop mentorship plans to improve adoption rates for new digital health tool and consequent use of data to inform decision making for improved patient outcomes.
- Establish, maintain, and deepen strategic relationships with internal team and external partners, sponsors, donors and beneficiaries.
- Lead the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of projects, ensuring quality, effectiveness, and alignment with organizational objectives and national guidelines.
- Lead the business’s Laboratory engagements with Regional and District Health Management Teams, working closely with technical working groups and other stakeholders to align strategies with national health priorities and integrate data-driven NCD management into local primary healthcare agendas.
- Manage program budget, resources, risks and issues and report on program performance and outcomes to the relevant stakeholders.
- Provide support in ensuring that relevant program costs are incorporated in budget planning at the regional level.
- Oversee the distribution of medical equipment and ICT devices to ensure that health facilities involved in the program receive the appropriate tools needed for effective service delivery.
- Oversee the field execution of digital health programs, including the deployment of the new digital health tool, with a strong focus on sustainability and improved patient outcomes.
- Coordinate training activities on national guidelines and new digital health tool usage.
- Collaborate with peer program leads and capacity-building teams to promote a culture of teamwork, learning, and continuous innovation.
- Represent the program in various forums and events and cultivate partnerships to support local implementation and national scale-up efforts.
Requirements
- Must have at least a Master's degree in Public Health, Health Economics or a related field
- Must have a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in executing public health programs with the Ghana Health Service, Ministry of Health or their respective ICT units as well as deploying digital health programs.
- Must possess a strong understanding of Ghana’s primary health care strategy and digital health policy.
- Proven track record in stakeholder management, program monitoring, and use of health data to drive decisions.
- Understanding of the health delivery system in Ghana and respective clinical workflows for primary health care.
- Must possess excellent communication (verbal and written) and project management skills.
- Leadership experience in managing cross-functional teams and fostering collaboration.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel across other regions in Ghana.
