Job Description/Requirements
Key Job Responsibilities
- Review security policies and procedures to ensure the protection of assets (movable and immovable) and personnel of the company.
- Build a comprehensive security program for the organisation.
- Ensure that the company’s security programs comply with the laws of the state.
- Monitor CCTV systems, tracking software (devices) for potential security risks.
- Conduct security risks assessment in support of the operations of the company.
- Evaluate the security measures in place and initiate changes in light of current trends in safety and security.
- Provide cost-effective security to all ECL divisions through the maintenance and updating of technical security systems on all sites.
- Conduct regular patrols and spot checks of site and shift supervisors to ensure execution of responsibilities, specific post orders, and enforcement of service standards.
- Conduct investigations in accordance with security best practices guidelines into suspected criminal matters and liaise with relevant law enforcement agencies as and when the need arises.
- Provide Health and safety support to all ECL divisions through periodic review and update.
- Conduct health and safety risk assessment across all ECL divisions.
- Support the organisation of training courses on security issues for new and existing staff; train and build the capacity of security staff.
- Manage multiple teams of Security Officers (Team Leaders, Site Supervisors and Guards).
- In Liaison with Security Companies, supervise day-to-day security operations to ensure delivery of high-quality security services.
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the security budget.
- Control budgets for security operations and monitor expenses
- Control budgets for security operations and monitor expenses to ensure they are within approved limits
- Responsible for the proper maintenance of all equipment, vehicle and other assets assigned to department.
- Prepare & submit to Management Security Risk Assessments, Monthly & Quarterly Security Incidents Reports.
- Other responsibilities as determined by Management.
Relationships
- External: Third Party Security Companies / Security Agencies (eg, Ghana Police Service (GPO))
- Internal: Directors, Internal Security Personnel, HoDs/Supervisors,
Qualifications:
- Educational: Minimum of Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Risk & Security Management or Criminology or related discipline. Masters degree in a related discipline would be an added advantage.
- Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of current safety and security related Issues. Self-defence techniques.
- Work Experience: Minimum of Six (6) years relevant experience, three (3) of which must be in a senior role in security operations in a fast-paced work environment.
