Lower Primary Teacher

Key Responsibilities

Instruction and Lesson Delivery

• Plan and deliver lessons in accordance with the school curriculum.
• Teach core subjects including English, Mathematics, Science, and other assigned subjects.
• Use a variety of teaching methods to support different learning styles and abilities.
• Prepare lesson plans and teaching materials for effective classroom instruction.

Assessment and Monitoring

• Prepare and administer classwork, homework, quizzes, and tests.
• Assess student performance and provide feedback to support improvement.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress.

Classroom Management

• Create and maintain a safe, positive, and organized classroom environment.
• Encourage active participation and engagement in learning activities.
• Maintain discipline and ensure adherence to school rules.

Student Support and Development

• Support the academic, social, and emotional development of students.
• Provide additional help to students who require academic support.
• Encourage good study habits, responsibility, and respect.

Professional Responsibilities

• Attend staff meetings and participate in school activities and professional development sessions.
• Collaborate with other teachers to improve teaching and learning outcomes.
• Communicate with parents regarding student progress when necessary.

Qualifications

• A university degree or diploma in Education, or a related field, is required.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong communication and teaching skills.
• Ability to work effectively with young children.
• Good classroom management and organizational skills.
• Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for teaching.

Experience

• Previous teaching experience in a primary school is an advantage.

Salary: GHS1,800 - GHS2,100
