Job Summary



• The successful candidate will join our team as the Head of RF Planning and Optimization in the Network Department and report to the Director of Network Planning.

• This individual will manage and lead the radio planning and optimization team, responsible for planning, designing, and managing the capacity of the radio network.

• The goal is to ensure that network deployments align with coverage, capacity, and quality requirements. Additionally, the candidate will optimize the radio network to meet network quality standards and enhance customer experience targets.



Key Responsibilities



• Radio Coverage and Capacity Planning:

• Adapt AT coverage and capacity guidelines to the operation.

• Lead in the compilation of the overall radio nominal plan for the network based on all the input received from all the stakeholders.

• Ensure high-level business strategies and tactical plans are translated into appropriate Radio plans and designs delivered in line with business requirements within agreed timelines.

• Ownership of radio network utilization ensuring the network is used in an effective and efficient manner

• Ensure efficient management of the radio network planning OPEX and CAPEX budget through effective planning, design, and deployment to achieve business KPIs (EBITDA, revenue, etc.)



Radio Optimization



• Ensure the Radio Network is well optimized as per the required Service Levels with the Managed Service Provider

• Ensure all radio KPIs meet agreed on thresholds with tracking process for Worst Cells, ensuring effective and timely resolution of cases

• Coordination of Benchmarking and cluster optimization activities, feeding insights into business decision making and resolution of issues raised on time.

• Seek out new technologies and undertake optimization trials for new features and aligning features and parameters to best practice deployments

• Optimization and resolution of customer complaints and within SLAs



Qualification Required & Experience



• Strong RF engineering background essential

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical/computer/Telecommunication engineering

• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a similar role

• Proven ability to translate high-level business strategies and tactical plans into technically achievable goals and projects

• Highly proficient with cellular network design & operational telecoms principles, cellular wireless technologies, radio access network design theory for 2G/3G/4G technologies and an introduction to 5G technologies

• Experience in managing vendors, analyzing contracts, business proposals and RFQs

• Demonstrate knowledge in project/program management. Project management certification an added advantage.

• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, projects, and activities

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Rigorous attention to detail

• Coach and influence the professional development of the team to maximize their performance to meet the objectives of the department.

• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills

• Intermediate or higher-level Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills

• Be able to work in a changing and uncertain environment and deliver results
