Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for directing and managing the organization’s business activities to develop and implement effective business strategies and programs.

The goal is to enhance client satisfaction, increase clients’ chances of acquiring travel visas, and acquire an expanding and dedicated clientele.


Main Duties

  • Plan, direct, coordinate and manage the day to day running of business activities and operations of the company.

  • Improve overall business functions; managing budgets, developing strategic plans, communicating business goals, sales and marketing, training, and development.

  • Communicate clear vision, mission, goals and objectives to stakeholders.

  • Determine realistic and achievable annual revenue targets for the organization and develop strategies on how these targets could be met.

  • Conduct research on travel information from all relevant sources from time to time and keep employees updated. 

  • Audit or verify information provided by clients as part of their travel requirements.

  • Provide consultation/advice to clients after conducting travel risks analysis on their documentation.

  • Ensure proper presentation of final travel documentation by evaluating its compliance to travel needs, company procedures, and regulatory standards.

  • Formulate company policies, culture and values and find ways to institutionalize them.

  • Make hiring decisions.

  • Conduct weekly performance appraisals for staff using key performance metrics and indicators.

  • Review weekly, monthly and annual reports from subordinates for key decision making.

  • Establish and maintain constructive and cooperative work relationships with clients and among team members.

  • Conduct business risk analysis from time to time for key decision making.

  • Monitor processes, surroundings and resources to detect and assess problems.

  • Schedule work activities, and programs/events (where necessary).

  • Ensure proper filing of clients’ documents and bookkeeping systems.

  • Handle complaints, settle disputes and resolve grievances that may arise in the course of work.


Must Have

  • Proven work experience in the travel industry; preferably in a travel visa processing centre.

  • Not less than three(3) years of experience as a manager in a related field/ industry.

  • International travel experience

  • Sound knowledge of international travel requirements for travel visa applications.

  • Master’s degree or certifications in tourism, travel, hospitality, and business management.

  • Exemplary sales skills and customer-oriented approach. 


Competencies

  • Excellent knowledge of travelling software (computer reservations systems, GDS systems and e-travel).

  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of any local or foreign language(s) is an advantage.

  • Well versed in various areas of travel (domestic/international, business/holidays, group/individual, etc).

  • Ability to plan, lead and direct people towards achieving the desired goal.

  • Ability to delegate tasks and motivate people to perform them.

  • Innovative, critical thinking and analytical skills.

  • Ability to interact, communicate and negotiate effectively, as well as build effective teams.

  • Effective skills in organizing and task management.

  • Demonstrable ability to handle crises.
