• Prepare and serve hot and cold coffee beverages according to Café Chavela recipes and standards.
• Prepare teas, iced teas and specialty tea beverages.
• Prepare smoothies using approved recipes and portion measurements.
• Prepare boba/bubble teas, including milk teas and specialty flavors.
• Prepare other seasonal and specialty beverages introduced by the café.
• Ensure all beverages are consistent in taste, temperature, portion and presentation.
• Follow recipes and measurements accurately at all times.
• Operate and properly care for espresso machines, coffee grinders, blenders, sealing equipment and other beverage equipment.

• Receive, display and serve pastries and other designated café items.
• Ensure pastries are attractively presented and displays remain clean and properly stocked.
• Handle pastries and food products according to food-safety and hygiene standards.
• Monitor freshness and quality throughout the day.
• Follow proper storage, rotation and handling procedures.
• Report expired, damaged or unsellable products immediately.
• Accurately record wastage in accordance with café procedures.

• Welcome customers warmly and provide friendly, attentive service.
• Take orders accurately and efficiently.
• Explain beverage options and ingredients when required.
• Make appropriate recommendations and promote specials or new products.
• Ensure orders are presented neatly and professionally.
• Respond professionally to customer concerns and escalate issues when necessary.

• Monitor coffee, milk, tea, fruits, syrups, boba ingredients, cups, packaging, pastries and other bar supplies.
• Follow approved recipes and portion measurements to control product usage.
• Restock the beverage and pastry stations throughout the shift.
• Participate in daily stock counts when required.
• Report low stock, unusual product usage, shortages, damages or discrepancies immediately.
• Record spoiled, incorrectly prepared or excess products according to café procedures.
• Do not consume, give away or remove café products without authorization.

• Maintain a clean and organized beverage and pastry station throughout the shift.
• Clean and sanitize equipment, counters, refrigerators, display areas and utensils.
• Follow all food-safety, hygiene and sanitation requirements.
• Store milk, fruit, tea, coffee, boba ingredients and pastries correctly.
• Complete all assigned opening and closing cleaning duties.
• Immediately report equipment problems, breakages or safety concerns.

• Prepare the beverage and pastry stations before service begins.
• Ensure equipment is clean, operational and ready for use.
• Ensure sufficient stock is available for service.
• Properly clean and shut down equipment at closing.
• Store remaining products correctly.
• Complete required stock, wastage and closing records.
• Leave the bar and pastry areas clean, organized and ready for the next shift.

• 1 year or more of barista, café, restaurant or hospitality experience preferred.
• Experience preparing coffee or specialty beverages is an advantage.
• Experience with smoothies and bubble tea is beneficial, but training can be provided.
• Strong customer-service and communication skills.
• Ability to follow recipes and measurements consistently.
• Good attention to detail and presentation.
• Strong hygiene and cleanliness standards.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently during busy periods.
• Reliable, punctual, honest and accountable.
• Able to work effectively as part of a team.
