Technical Project Manager (Software Background Required)
🌍 Remote
🕒 Full-time (8 hours) | US Time Zone
💰 Salary: USD 400 - 500 (to be paid in local currency)
About the Role
At Virtual IP we’re looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager with a strong software development background to lead multiple technology initiatives across our engineering and IT teams. This role requires someone who can bridge the gap between business and engineering, while actively contributing to technical discussions and ensuring smooth delivery across projects.
What You’ll Do
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Plan, execute, and deliver multiple IT and software projects
- Define scope, timelines, milestones, and success criteria with stakeholders
- Develop and manage project plans, roadmaps, and resource allocation
- Track progress and proactively resolve risks, blockers, and dependencies
Team Coordination
- Lead cross-functional teams (Developers, QA, DevOps, System Admins, Designers)
- Run Agile ceremonies: stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives
- Assign tasks, manage workloads, and remove blockers
- Build a collaborative, accountable, and results-driven team environment
Stakeholder & Communication Management
- Act as the main point of contact between technical teams, business stakeholders, and vendors
- Translate technical concepts into clear business insights
- Share regular updates through reports, dashboards, and summaries
- Manage expectations and handle changes through structured processes
Technical Oversight
- Understand system architecture, tools, and technologies across projects
- Collaborate with engineers on technical decisions, integrations, and trade-offs
- Review technical documentation, requirements, and designs
- Coordinate deployments, releases, and post-implementation reviews
What We’re Looking For
- 4+ years of experience in Technical / IT Project Management
- Hands-on experience in software development (required)
- Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies
- Ability to engage in technical discussions with engineering teams
- Experience with:
- APIs & integrations
- Databases (SQL/NoSQL)
- Web or mobile application architecture
- Familiarity with tools like Jira, Trello, ClickUp, or similar
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Exposure to DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience working with remote teams
- PMP, Scrum Master, or Agile certifications
