Job summary

A Reputable Restaurant is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Stores Officer to maintain accurate stock records, support receiving and issuing processes, safeguard company inventory and ensure the timely supply of approved items to operational departments.

Job descriptions & requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect and verify incoming stock against purchase orders, invoices and delivery documentation.
  • Record all receipts, issues, returns, transfers, damages, expiries and stock adjustments accurately and promptly.
  • Issue items only against properly approved requisitions and maintain complete supporting documentation.
  • Organise stock by category and storage requirement and maintain accurate bin cards, inventory logs and system records.
  • Apply FIFO and, for time-sensitive or perishable items, FEFO stock-rotation principles.
  • Monitor stock levels, reorder points, slow-moving items, shortages, variances, damages and expiries and report exceptions immediately.
  • Conduct routine stock counts and participate in monthly inventory exercises, reconciliations and audits.
  • Coordinate with Procurement, Finance, Operations and receiving teams to resolve delivery or documentation discrepancies.
  • Maintain cleanliness, safe storage, restricted access and proper handling of fragile, perishable and high-value items.
  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly stock reports as required.

Qualification and Experience:
  • Certificate, diploma or relevant training in Stores Management, Inventory Control, Logistics, Warehousing or a related field.
  • At least two years of relevant experience in stores, inventory, warehousing, hospitality or food-service stock control.
  • Good numerical ability and practical knowledge of stock-counting, documentation, reconciliation and inventory-control procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with inventory-management software is an advantage.
  • High integrity, attention to detail, accountability and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Physical ability to stand, move and safely handle stock items during the working day.

Working Conditions: The role involves standing, movement and occasional lifting, and may require extended hours during stock counts, audits or urgent operational demands.
