Role Description
This is a contract, on-site role for a Senior Cyber Security Analyst based in Accra, Ghana. The Senior Cyber Security Analyst will be responsible for managing and enhancing the organization’s cybersecurity measures. Daily tasks include conducting in-depth threat analyses, evaluating application and network security, detecting and responding to malware threats, and implementing security strategies to safeguard systems and data. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities, perform risk assessments, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Application Security and Network Security
- Proficiency in Cybersecurity best practices and Malware Analysis. Experience with Penetration Testing.
- Exceptional Analytical Skills for identifying and mitigating potential security risks
- Experience with risk assessment processes and incident response techniques
- Understanding of compliance requirements and security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Industry-relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are a plus
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate problem-solving skills, and communicate effectively with diverse teams.
Demonstrable Requirements
• Three to five years of experience in a security analyst or related position.
• Technical knowledge of enterprise-class technologies such as firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points, VPNs, and desktop and server operating systems.
• Thorough understanding of Microsoft’s enterprise technology platform, including Azure, Active Directory, SQL, Office365, and the Windows server and desktop operating systems.
• Proficiency with Windows PowerShell.
• Working experience with the following technology vendors and products: Splunk Cloud, Rapid7 Nexpose Vulnerability Scanner, Sophos Antivirus, Varonis DatAlert, ForeScout CounterACT.
• Strong writing skills, as well as the ability to articulate security-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff.
• Working experience with creating, implementing, and managing a threat hunting program within a corporate environment.
• Demonstrated experience implementing and/or enforcing security and compliance frameworks such as NIST, Cobit, and ISO.
• Be a proficient problem-solver that is able to work autonomously.
