Job Requirements

1. Minimum 18 years of experience into plant Operation from steel manufacturing, especially in rolling mills,
2. Proven experience in setting up new plants/projects and managing full-scale operations.
3. Strong knowledge of TMT bar production processes, rolling mill equipment, and technologies.
4. Hands-on experience in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, 5S, Kaizen, or similar improvement methodologies.
5. Qualification – Bachelor/ Master Degree in Mechanical/Production
6. Job location- Accra, Ghana- West Africa

Mandatory Requirement

1. Must have experience of Green Field Project.
2. Must be from Steel manufacturing, especially in rolling Mills

Key Responsibilities

• Project Management & New Plant Setup
• Oversee the development and execution of new projects, including greenfield and brownfield expansions.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure the timely completion of project milestones.
• Ensure infrastructure, machinery installation, and commissioning meet international standards.
• Team Leadership & Development
• Lead, train, and mentor a team of production managers, engineers, technicians, and plant staff.
• Foster a performance-driven culture with focus on teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Plant Operations & Production Management
• Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the rolling mill plant to achieve production targets.
• Ensure optimal utilization of resources to increase productivity and reduce downtime.
• Implement process improvements to reduce waste, rework, and scrap generation.
• Maintain high-quality standards in the production of TMT bars.
• Develop and implement production schedules and workflows.
• Quality Control
• Implement quality control procedures and conduct regular inspections.
• Ensure that all products meet the company’s quality standards and specifications
• Address and resolve any quality issues promptly to minimize production downtime.
• Maintenance & Asset Management
• Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance of rolling mill equipment and machinery.
• Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to minimize equipment breakdowns.
• Cost Control & Efficiency
• Develop and implement cost-reduction strategies across plant operations.
• Monitor and control operational expenses and drive budget adherence.
• Analyze process efficiency and lead initiatives for energy conservation and productivity enhancement.
• Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)
• Ensure strict compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations.
• Conduct regular safety audits, training, and emergency response drills.
• Supply Chain & Coordination
• Work closely with procurement, quality control, logistics, and finance teams to ensure seamless plant operations.
• Manage raw material planning, inventory levels, and vendor relationships.
