I. Position Purpose
The Employee Relations (ER) Manager is the primary guardian of workplace harmony and legal compliance within the GH FMCG HR Group. This role is responsible for bridging the gap between management and employees by fostering a culture of engagement, resolving disputes, and ensuring that all labor practices strictly adhere to Ghanaian law and company policy.
II. Key Responsibilities
- Labor Relations & Dispute Management: Lead the resolution of labor disputes, grievances, and litigations to safeguard the company’s legal interests.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with the HRBP Manager to oversee Ghanaian employee communication, engagement initiatives, and disciplinary actions.
- External Liaison: Manage professional relationships with local labor departments, insurance institutions, and relevant government authorities.
- Employee Welfare & Safety: Oversee the reporting and tracking of work-related injuries and manage the processing of insurance claims.
- Culture & Engagement: Plan and implement corporate culture activities designed to enhance employee cohesion and a sense of belonging.
III. Candidate Specifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Resources Management, Law, or a related field.
- Experience: * A minimum of 5+ years of experience in Human Resources or Employee Relations management.
- Specialized experience in ER is highly preferred.
- Professional Knowledge: * Proficient in local Ghanaian labor laws, union policies, and relevant legal regulations.
- Strong capability in handling labor disputes and public relations crises.
- Core Competencies: Exceptional cross-cultural communication, organizational coordination, and problem-solving skills in complex environments.
