Job Summary
The Director of Network Strategy is a critical team member responsible for ensuring there is appropriate network breadth and stability to support our product and membership objectives. You will strategize with different teams, provide support, and facilitate communication between them. You will also work with the Chief Growth Officer on the strategy needed to execute the contract and implementation terms of Abarca’s pharmacy network

Job Description/Requirements
The fundamentals for the job…
- Partner with Abarca’s leadership team members to develop and execute short and long-range plans, goals, and objectives related to retail, specialty networks, manufacturer program strategy, partner satisfaction, and net drug cost to our customer.
- Develop and oversee effective retail, specialty pharmacy network and manufacturer/life-science program strategies and execution.
- Manage internal and external communication with partners to build effective partnerships and ensure compliance with contractual provisions and regulatory requirements.
- Work alongside a team of network strategy and operations leaders to deliver on strategy through coaching, mentoring, and effective feedback to support a high performing team.
- Provide non-restricted information and insights into the functioning of the current PBM-driven value chain and leverage that information to improve our business model, service offering, sources of competitive advantage, product roadmap, pharmacy network, partnership targets, and other key aspects of the Abarca business.
- Support our sales and business development teams as a thought partner and co-presenter.
- Interface with underwriting and sales in the request for proposal (RFP) process.
- Provide an executive presence within the market to support other relationships with purchasers, brokers, agents, and consultants.
- Contemplate new services that will further enhance the distinctiveness of the Abarca model.
What we expect of you
The bold requirements…
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Healthcare Administration. (In lieu of a degree, equivalent relevant work experience may be considered.)
- 10+ years of relevant experience in a Network Management-related role, handling complex network pharmacies with accountability for business results.
- Experience with negotiating contracts and managing complex relationships with retail
- pharmacy and PBM partners that include fee-for-service contracts, strategic value-based arrangements, and other partnership initiatives.
- Experience with market dynamics, financial management, budget management, data analysis, and decision-making within related industries.
- Experience building collaborative, strategic relationships with a variety of people and personality types, both inside and outside the company.
- Experience in leading, influencing, and motivating teams towards completing goals within scope of plans and deadlines.
- Experience communicating with all levels of the organization and executive-level external partners, including the ability to resolve issues and build consensus among groups of diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
