Chorkor Digital Lab is located in Chorkor, an overpopulated fishing community on the outskirts of Ghana’s capital, Accra. The area faces significant socio-economic challenges, with many children supporting their families financially instead of attending school. Job Description/Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Training & Program Development:
- Design and deliver engaging digital literacy programs using Cisco Networking Academy resources and other tech partners resources
- Adapt teaching methods to suit various learning levels and styles.
- Promote and coordinate awareness campaigns and outreach efforts related to the NetAcad program.
- Maintain clear communication with students and the Academy Support Centre (ASC).
- Collect student feedback and integrate it into program improvements.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly business reviews Lab and Admin Management
- Maintain lab equipment and ensure software and system updates are regularly installed.
- Oversee internet connectivity and resolve downtimes through proper reporting channels.
- Track and manage student attendance using an organized digital system.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in ICT or related technical field.
- At least 1 year of teaching, training, or instructional experience.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Willingness to commit to at least 6 months working on-site in Ghana.
Preferred Certifications:
While a CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) is preferred, the following certifications are also acceptable:
Alternative Certifications (equivalent to CCNA):
- CompTIA Network+ – Vendor-neutral and foundational in networking concepts.
- Juniper Networks JNCIA-Junos – Alternative networking certification with industry relevance.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals / Network Engineer Associate
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Advanced Networking Specialty
- CompTIA Security+ – For candidates with interest in network and information security.
- Google Associate Cloud Engineer – Strong for cloud-focused roles.
