The Fleet Driver Recruitment and Training Manager should have knowledge of:
- Yango partnership terms and requirements.
- The functionality of the Optics system.
- Driver working conditions and company policies.
- Driver recruitment and employment procedures.
- Driver suspension policies and procedures.
- Driver registration requirements and processes.
Skills and Qualifications
The Fleet Driver Recruitment and Training Manager must be able to:
- Work with the driver management system and the Opteum software.
- Use Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets proficiently.
Key Responsibilities1. Driver Recruitment
- Develop and propose new ideas and strategies for attracting drivers.
- Publish job advertisements on all relevant recruitment platforms.
- Contact potential driver candidates by phone, explain the working conditions, generate interest in the position, and encourage candidates to visit the office.
2. Candidate Follow-up
- Monitor responses to job advertisements on a regular basis.
- Contact applicants promptly, explain the job conditions, and invite qualified candidates to the office for registration.
3. Candidate Pipeline
- Maintain a reserve of qualified candidates who are ready to join the company and sign a lease agreement at any time.
- Maintain a minimum candidate reserve of 50 qualified drivers.
4. Driver Orientation
- Provide every candidate with a clear and detailed explanation of the company's working conditions, policies, and expectations.
5. Driver Training
- Train every new driver to use the driver application effectively.
- Ensure each driver understands how to begin work, complete trips correctly, and maximize their earnings.
6. Post-Onboarding Support
- Monitor each newly registered driver's performance daily during the first two weeks.
- Provide guidance, answer questions, and continue coaching the driver throughout the onboarding period.
7. Driver Feedback
- Conduct daily surveys to assess driver satisfaction.
- Report driver feedback, concerns, and suggestions to the supervisor.
8. Driver Registration
- Conduct the initial interview with each candidate.
- Verify identity documents and check available public databases when required.
- Confirm that the candidate has a smartphone with internet access.
- Prepare lease agreements and all required documentation, ensuring they are properly signed.
- Provide guidance on using the Yango Driver application.
- Enter driver and vehicle information into the Optimum system.
9. Daily Reporting
Prepare and submit a daily report to the supervisor containing:
- Number of active driver job advertisements published online.
- Number of applications received during the day.
- Number of candidates who attended training and registration.
- Number of drivers successfully registered.
- Number of drivers who left the company during the day and the reasons for leaving.
- Current size of the driver candidate reserve.
- Number of newly registered drivers who actually started working that day.
10. Driver Assessment
- Evaluate the driving skills of newly recruited drivers before they begin working for the fleet.
Authority
The Fleet Driver Recruitment and Training Manager has the authority to:
- Request from drivers any information necessary to perform assigned duties.
- Issue mandatory work-related instructions to drivers, mechanics, and dispatchers, and monitor compliance.
- Recommend to management that a vehicle be blocked or suspended from operation when necessary.
- Provide mandatory instruction to drivers regarding safe driving practices, vehicle maintenance, and interaction with government authorities.
- Receive reimbursement for travel expenses incurred while performing official duties, in accordance with company policy.
Performance Evaluation
The Fleet Driver Recruitment and Training Manager's performance will be considered unsatisfactory under the following circumstances:
- Failure to maintain a consistent flow of new driver candidates.
- Failure to maintain a reserve of qualified candidates ready to begin work.
- Vehicle shifts are missed due to a shortage of available drivers.
- A high number of newly hired drivers leave the company within the first 14 days due to dissatisfaction with working conditions.
- Failure to submit the required daily work report to the supervisor.
