Job Purpose
Lead and manage all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) work for the company’s building projects, including commercial, high-rise, and residential. Responsible for design coordination, procurement, installation supervision, testing, commissioning, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and meet quality and legal standards.
Scope & Responsibilities
- Manage MEP work across all ongoing projects.
- Lead internal MEP team and manage subcontractors.
- Ensure timely supply of MEP materials and equipment as per schedule.
Key Duties
Design & Technical Management
- Review and coordinate MEP designs (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire safety, etc.).
- Check designs for feasibility, compliance, and value.
- Align MEP scheduling with the overall construction program.
- Coordinate MEP systems with structural and architectural plans, using tools like BIM.
- Approve technical documents and equipment selections.
Procurement & Materials
- Prepare MEP material and equipment lists.
- Assist procurement team in selecting and approving materials and subcontractors.
- Ensure materials meet specifications before installation.
Installation & Site Supervision
- Oversee all site MEP installations to maintain standards.
- Manage subcontractors’ work quality and productivity.
- Coordinate MEP tasks with other construction activities.
- Track progress and resolve any delays.
Quality Control & Testing
- Set and enforce quality checks and approval processes.
- Plan and manage testing, commissioning, and project handover.
- Prepare operation manuals, as-built drawings, and warranty documents.
Health & Safety Compliance
- Ensure all MEP work follows safety laws and building codes.
- Enforce company safety rules on site.
- Work with authorities to get approvals and utility connections.
Leadership & Reporting
- Lead and develop the MEP team.
- Provide regular reports on progress, costs, and technical matters.
- Help improve company MEP delivery processes.
Performance Indicators
- Projects completed on time and within budget.
- High-quality work with few defects.
- No MEP-related safety incidents.
- Smooth handover with complete documentation.
- Accurate procurement and schedule management.
- Timely statutory approvals and connections.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering (or similar).
- Professional engineering registration preferred.
- 10–15 years experience in MEP, including high-rise and commercial projects.
- Strong track record in managing full MEP delivery from design to handover.
- Knowledge of building codes and international standards.
- Project management or safety certification is a plus.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical knowledge of MEP systems.
- Skilled with AutoCAD; experience with Revit MEP/BIM a bonus.
- Good planning, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience in budgeting and cost control.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality.
Key Relationships
- Reports to Head of Construction / Project Director.
- Works with Project Managers, Design, Commercial, Procurement, Logistics, HSE teams, consultants, subcontractors, and authorities.
Working Conditions
- Based on construction sites with frequent travel between.
- May require extra hours to meet deadlines.
- Must follow PPE and safety rules.
