Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining Hotel Network Infrastructure: Ensure the smooth operation of the hotel's network infrastructure including wired and wireless networks, routers, switches, access points, and firewalls.
  • Troubleshooting Technical Issues: Respond promptly to technical issues reported by hotel staff or guests. Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems, and escalate issues to appropriate personnel if necessary.
  • Supporting Hotel Systems: Provide technical support for hotel systems including property management systems (PMS), point-of-sale (POS) systems, guest Wi-Fi, CCTV, and telephone systems.
  • Data Security and Privacy: Implement and maintain security measures to protect the hotel's network, systems, and data. Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations such as GDPR or CCPA.
  • Software and Hardware Maintenance: Install, configure, and update software applications and operating systems. Perform regular maintenance on hardware devices including computers, printers, and servers.
  • Training and Documentation: Provide training and support to hotel staff on the use of IT systems and equipment. Create and maintain documentation such as user guides and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors for IT-related services including hardware/software procurement, maintenance contracts, and technical support.
  • IT Asset Management: Maintain an inventory of IT assets including hardware, software licenses, and peripherals. Monitor usage and recommend upgrades or replacements as needed.
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery: Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure the continuity of IT operations in the event of system failures or data loss.


Requirements:

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues
  • Knowledge of networking protocols, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc. Familiarity with Windows, Linux, and/or macOS operating systems.
  • Hospitality Industry Knowledge: Understanding of hotel operations and specific IT requirements in a hospitality environment (e.g., PMS, POS, guest Wi-Fi).
  • Customer Service: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users. Strong customer service orientation with a focus on guest satisfaction.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Analytical mindset with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical problems efficiently.
  • Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: Previous experience in IT support or systems administration, preferably in a hospitality environment, is desirable.
