Job Summary

The Innovation &Digital; Marketing Executive is the catalyst for driving technological innovation to sharpen Coronation Insurance’s competitive edge. In close collaboration with the Executive Management teams and under the guidance of the MD/CEOs, the Innovation and Digital Marketing Executive shall lead the charge in enhancing our technology and digital capabilities for accelerated business growth. The Role will lead the development and execution of the Company’s digital strategy and ensure that it is aligned with the firms overall goals and objectives. The role will also drive revenue and process enhancement for the business through its digital channels by identifying client segments and devise tailored approaches to attract and convert them. The role will lead the process of transitioning from current legacy linear business practices to platform-based business models

Job Description/Requirements

Role Responsibilities:

Digital Innovation and strategy (Products and Platforms)

  • Lead revenue generation in digital insurance sales
  • Spearhead innovative digital advancements that create new revenue streams and transformative business models.
  • Set a compelling digital vision and strategy, aligning technology/digital initiatives with long-term business objectives.
  • Lead all technology innovation efforts for product and digital platform development; collaborating with cross-functional team leaders to identify opportunities for technology-driven product and service innovation.
  • Lead the end-to-end digital product lifecycle, from ideation to commercialization, ensuring customer-centricity and market relevance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver digital products that enhance user experiences and meet evolving needs.
  • Communicate complex technology concepts to non-technical stakeholders, highlighting their impact on business strategies.
  • Identify and introduce cutting-edge technologies that enhance the ecosystem's competitive edge. At the same time, forecast future technology investments and strategically align our technological capabilities with overarching business objectives.


Leading Technologies

  • Identify emerging digital technologies with the potential to disrupt existing market , enter markets, enhancing business agility and customer experiences, achieve risk and cost optimization and create synergies across Coronation Group different verticals.
  • Evaluate and integrate leading-edge solutions that maintain the organization's competitive edge. Technology Business Planning:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive technology/digital business plan that supports revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Leverage on technology and digital platforms to support market expansion and grow revenue.
  • Align technology/digital investments with strategic business priorities, ensuring optimal resource allocation.


Leadership of the Digital Services Function

  • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to team members, enhancing their skillsets and career growth.
  • Evaluate our existing technology infrastructure and capabilities, eliminating those that no longer align, and advocating for the integration of emerging technologies into both IT roadmaps and the business evolution. Thus, shape the ecosystem’s technological landscape in a manner that propels innovation, accelerates growth, and ensures long-term success.
  • Manage the digital technology budget, effectively allocating resources to drive innovation, digital transformation roadmap execution whilst optimizing our technological resource utilization for additional value (cost savings, scale etc.)
  • Evaluate and manage digital technology vendors and strategic partners to enhance the organizations technological capabilities.
  • Negotiate contracts, service-level agreements, and partnerships that drive value and support business goals.
  • Drive technology adoption and change management efforts across the organization, ensuring seamless transition to new technologies.
  • Implement governance frameworks to ensure technology initiatives adhere to regulatory and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address data privacy and security requirements.
  • Provide oversight for audits and assessments.
  • Oversee the technology portfolio, prioritizing initiatives that deliver the highest value and strategic impact.
  • Optimize resource allocation, ensuring seamless project execution and measurable outcomes.


Cybersecurity

  • Establish and enforce robust cybersecurity measures to safeguard digital assets, customer data, and intellectual property.
  • Lead incident response and recovery efforts, mitigating risks and ensuring compliance with industry standards.


Research, learning and Development.

  • Analyze the current technology landscape within the organization to identify gaps, areas of improvement, and opportunities for innovation.
  • Conduct in depth analysis to determine the technical and financial feasibility of adopting technology innovations.
  • Research emerging technologies and digital tools to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization of technology in Coronation.
  • Foster a culture of technological innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the organization.
  • Contribute to thought leadership and promote the organization’s technological capabilities.
  • Provide professional development opportunities for the technology teams across the ecosystem.

Educational Qualification and Work Experience:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years relevant work experience, with 4 years in a digital leadership role.
  • Relevant professional certification will be an added advantage.
