Company Description

A reputable Institution is seeking a highly motivated, detailed-oriented and service-driven

individual to join our team as a Facilities Manager. The successful applicant will be

responsible for overseeing the planning, development, maintenance and management of the

Institution’s physical infrastructure and estate assets. The role involves managing land

records, supervising construction and repair projects, ensuring regulatory compliance and

facilitating the smooth operation of facilities to support academic and administrative

functions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain updated records of institutional land, buildings and properties.
  • Ensure legal compliance of land use, property ownership and lease agreements.
  • Monitor the use of space and ensure optimal allocation of buildings and facilities.
  • Coordinate estate-related activities with local authorities, government departments and legal entities.
  • Assist in planning and execution of civil, electrical and maintenance works.
  • Liaise with architects, contractors and consultants for new construction or renovation projects.
  • Monitor project timelines, quality control, safety standards and budget compliance.
  • Prepare technical reports and submit progress updates to higher authorities.
  • Oversee day-to-day maintenance of campus infrastructure - buildings, roads, drainage, water supply, electrical systems, security systems, etc.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure facilities are in optimal condition.
  • Support campus events by ensuring facilities are prepared and functional.
  • Ensure timely repairs, upkeep of facilities and cleanliness of the campus environment.
  • Manage staff related to civil maintenance, landscaping, plumbing, electrical, etc.
  • Implement energy efficiency, safety and sustainability initiatives across the estate.
  • Prepare estimates, tender documents and contracts for estate-related work and services.
  • Participate in the evaluation of bids and contract negotiations.
  • Monitor service delivery by vendors and contractors as per terms and conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, environmental regulations and fire safety norms.
  • Maintain documentation for audits, inspections and statutory reporting.
  • Coordinate with safety committees and implement disaster management and emergency response plans.


Qualification And Experience

  • A Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Building Technology or a related field.
  • Two to three years’ work experience as a facilities Manager in a tertiary institution.


Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices and safety regulations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
